Creative Toilet Signs

 In Blog

If you were asked by a client to design all the signage for their restaurant, would you consider the toilet signage to be a perfect opportunity to let your hair down?

In a world where designers made the rules we would have a lot of fun designing the signs for the toilets. In reality because of political correctness and also perhaps “good taste” we rarely get an open brief to explore the rarely explored.

I was doing some research on Pinterest and came across a toilet sign I thought was an excellent example of a graphic designer being creative. It got me thinking how many other examples could I find, so I spent a bit of time and found a nice selection I am now sharing with you.

THIS IS THE “LET’S HAVE  A BIT OF CREATIVE FUN” CATEGORY

This is what happens when a designer gets the opportunity and budget to have some creative fun. And by fun I don’t mean crude or in bad taste, I mean “creative license” to push the boundaries and circumventing the norm.

THIS IS THE “MAYBE A LITTLE TOO FAR” CATEGORY

Let’s face it, it takes all kinds to make up the human race. A small selection of these people are creative, they see ideas that others don’t, they say things others dare not speak. And when all is said and done, they tend to be polarising individuals. I think the people who came up with the following toilet sign designs, fall into this category, see what you think.
